What AEUC Auto allows — and what stays locked.

This page is operational guidance for the platform, not a substitute for legal advice. AEUC should not claim to be a dealer, title agent, lender, auctioneer, mechanic, inspector or warranty provider unless the applicable license/authority exists.

ALLOWED WITH GUARDRAILS

Automated bidding for ordinary marketplace goods

AEUC can operate an Internet auction listing service when users set the description and price and the system runs the online bid process. AEUC should not represent the software as a licensed human auctioneer.

LICENSE REQUIRED

Vehicle auctions for multiple owners in Illinois

Keep disabled unless AEUC or the participating operator fits a statutory exemption or holds the required Illinois commercial vehicle auctioneer/dealer license.

ALLOWED AS MARKETPLACE

Private-owner vehicle listings

AEUC can provide listing, messaging and offer tools while the titled owner remains the seller and handles title transfer and legally required disclosures.

ALLOWED AFTER VERIFICATION

Licensed dealer listings

Require dealer-license information and applicable dealer disclosures. Used-car dealers generally must comply with the FTC Used Car Rule and Buyers Guide requirements.

ALLOWED WITH DISCLOSURE

Dealer advertising

Paid placement must be clearly labeled Sponsored or Advertisement and must not make misleading price, warranty, inspection or financing claims.

Never represent these as automatic AEUC approvals

Clean title, mechanical condition, warranty coverage, dealer licensing, financing approval, auction licensing, odometer accuracy, lien release, vehicle history, recall clearance, tax amount, title transfer, registration or legal ownership. Those must come from the seller, licensed dealer, government record, professional inspection, title/lien provider or other authoritative source.
