AEUC Marketplace
AEUC AUTO • CREATIVE FINANCE LEARNING CENTER

Learn vehicle financing structures before you make a deal.

This section is educational and helps buyers and sellers understand possible deal structures. AEUC Marketplace is not currently acting as the lender, finance company, loan broker, dealer, escrow company, title company, or collection agency for these transactions.

Execution locked

AEUC does not execute creative-finance contracts yet.

Listings may describe seller-provided terms for education and buyer inquiry, but automated financing approval, loan origination, installment-contract execution, payment servicing, repossession workflows and similar regulated functions stay disabled until the applicable state and federal requirements are reviewed.

Ways a vehicle deal may be structured

Seller / Owner Financing

A vehicle seller may agree to accept payments over time. This can become a regulated retail installment transaction. Do not assume a private agreement avoids lending, dealer, disclosure, title, lien, tax, or state licensing rules.

Installment Sale / Buy Here Pay Here

A dealer-financed purchase can involve retail installment, credit disclosure, servicing, privacy and state licensing requirements. Only properly authorized sellers/providers should offer this through AEUC.

Lease / Lease-to-Own

Leasing and purchase-option arrangements can trigger separate federal and state rules. AEUC does not treat a lease-to-own label as a way around financing law.

Trade + Cash

A buyer and seller can negotiate a trade plus cash, subject to title, lien, tax, odometer and other transfer requirements.

Traditional Financing

A licensed lender or authorized financing provider may finance a purchase. AEUC does not approve or originate a loan merely because a listing links to a provider.

Before agreeing to payments

  • • Verify seller identity and authority to sell.
  • • Verify VIN, title status and liens.
  • • Put price, down payment, APR/finance charge, payment schedule and term in writing when applicable.
  • • Identify any balloon/final payment and late-payment terms.
  • • Understand insurance, taxes, registration and title/lien handling.
  • • Inspect the vehicle and review available history/recall information.
  • • Dealers must determine which Buyers Guide, warranty and other disclosures apply.
  • • Do not rely on an AEUC calculator or listing as legal, tax, credit or financial advice.
50-state compliance gate

State-specific execution remains disabled until reviewed.

Vehicle financing, dealer licensing, installment sales, title/lien rules, advertising, repossession and consumer-credit requirements can vary by state. AEUC should display authoritative sources and review dates rather than claiming one generic rule applies nationwide.
